New Years resolution: blog.

Seriously, what's the point of me having a blog if I'm not going to write in it?

That's changing this year.

We have a lot of big changes for our family this year. We're currently on the search for the perfect house to fit our family of three + a dog closer to my work and just the city in general. Must haves are three bedrooms at least, a decent size kitchen, and fenced in backyard. We've been searching for.ever.

Also another major event: Jaxen will be turning ONE in April. Sad mama :(. I've been gathering a few ideas for his birthday party. I haven't decided on a set theme yet. There's tons of good ideas out there!

Marriage. Tyler and I have been engaged for what seems like years. We are going to officially tie the knot in 2013.

More kids? It's a possibility. We want to be settled into a new house first and get past Jaxen turning one until we start trying. Plus, I've heard being pregnant in the summer sucks!

And finally, a little update about my sweet boy:
He is nine months today. Nine months! Where did the time go? He is crawling (very fast) and pulling up on everything. He's taken a couple of steps, but doesn't stand on his own yet. I'm sure it will be here pretty soon and we will be on our toes even more than we are now. Jax still one has two teeth on the bottom. He has been teething a lot lately so I suspect at least two on the top are fixing to pop through any time now. He jabbers all the time! It's so funny hearing him yell to get our attention and he constantly says "dada". However, he doesn't quite have the "mama" down yet. I haven't given up hope!

So, here's to a new year.

7 months.

My sweet Jaxen Tyler is already 7 months!
He weighs 18 pounds 13 ounces and is 27 inches tall. He sits up completely by himself now and entertains himself for hours playing with his toys.

He absolutely loves to be outside! No matter the weather, he is up for it. We take his walker outside and he just has a ball. He explores everything from the crispy fall leaves to the birds chirping.

Jax is eating quite a variety these days. He loves eating with us at the table and exploring new flavors. He still has a favorite of bananas. He really is a good eater, but sometimes we have to trick him with hiding some of the vegetables in with some fruit. We have started practicing using a sippy cup and he is doing quite well considering we just started.

He now is attending daycare 5 days a week due to us working. I cannot get over how much he enjoys going. Everytime I come pick him up, he is always so content playing with the other babies and then greets me with the biggest smile. The teachers are so good with him there. They say he is always happy and never fusses unless he gets hungry. That's what I like to hear! They also do small crafts with them and send it home. I just love seeing what he does! I'm so truly blessed we found a place that is so close to home and somewhere we trust and love.

Xoxo.

Dear Jaxen.

Dear Jaxen,

Oh baby boy, why are you growing up so fast? I kind of want to sit in the corner and look at pictures from the day you were born and cry a little bit. I was excited for you to turn 6 months old, but now you're officially past that and onto 7. You are so smart. You are so incredibly happy all the time. You can always put the biggest smile on my face and turn anyways day completely around. I am so beyond blessed to call you mine. I love you to the moon and back.

Love,

Mama

A working mother.

The days of getting to sleep in with my little man and enjoy each day just playing and doing whatever we please has come to an end. The roles have changed and I am a full time working mama now. I'm working at the Pediatric Clinic we take Jaxen to and I absolutely love it there! Everyone is so sweet and I truly do love working with the kiddos.

I loved staying home with Jaxen. It was extra bonding time. We played all day and had lots of giggles and smiles. It's best for our family that I take on a full time job, though, so that I shall do! He is in excellent hands with Tyler and I have no doubt in my time that the two of them are having loads of fun everyday.

I do miss seeing this sweet face all day, but that just means more cuddle time when I get home.

Xoxo,

Jen

5 months

Oh my gosh, I am so behind! Jaxen turned 5 months on the 4th. That fact brings tears to my eyes. I have to take a moment to brag, though. He is honestly the best child I have been around. This boy is always, always happy. He always displays a smile on his sweet little face for anyone and everyone. He hardly ever sheds a tear. He even wakes up in the mornings cooing and babbling until we get out of bed to get him. He is truly an amazing gift from God.

We haven't had a doctor's appointment since early August so I'm not sure on Jaxen's exact weight. He is super long though! He has now mastered rolling over on his own. He babbles all the time and it's the sweetest thing.

He recently said the word "dada" and Tyler is just eating every bit of that up. I think it's cute. We got a video of him saying it, finally! Jaxen usually stops talking and smiling once the cameras come out so this took quite a bit of persuasion. :-)

Adding lots of play to our day.

Jaxen is coming up on five months. He is already quite the little explorer with site and sound. He always has a huge smile on his face for anyone that is around him. He is the happiest baby I've ever been around and I couldn't be more blessed.

We've been talking about starting to throw more toys into his day so he can develop more motor and cognitive skills. We purchased his first "big" toy, a Baby Einstein exersaucer, this past weekend. He is in love with this thing, and that's putting it lightly! He is already starting to reach for the different toys on it and trying to play. So proud!
